Vanessa Mdee (mmm-day) is a Tanzania born artist who has been on the global stage for over a decade. She is a trailblazer for women in her country and her philanthropic work has won recognition from the United Nations. Her work includes efforts with the Staying Alive Foundation, UNAIDS, and GAVI Alliance as an ambassador. She has spoken at numerous events like MTV Base Meets, World Economic Forum for Africa, Global for Cervical Cancer Prevention. She also has the highest-selling East African album of all time...yes, she's literally a pop star. But despite this fact, Vanessa is totally human. She knows first hand about stage fright, the pressures of staying fit, being “beautiful”, and always being scrutinized by someone....somewhere.
